Prax’s

Prax's Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

Finally got to try this most awaited Chinese/ Thai place! They have recently opened in Barsha Heights with a good and spacious seating! On my visit, the staff welcomed us friendly and were really polite.

Prax’s have a unique concept of ordering – You will be given a paper board with a pen to choose your order from the Chef’s menu or you can also create your own noodles with your choice of base(soba noodles, egg noodles etc), your choice of protein, sauce and toppings!

We started our meal with some starters – Chicken Siu Mai (Dimsums) and Vegetarian Spring Rolls. The chicken dimsums were steamed so well! Infact, Chicken piece was really soft and tender. The Vegetarian Spring roll was served hot along with sweet chilli sauce to go with it. These spring rolls tasted absolutely heaven. It was so delicious that we called for one more dish of those spring rolls. The starters were so good that i’d especially come back to have it again.

For the mains, we ordered for Black pepper chicken noodles from the chef’s menu. We also created one noodles and selected the soba noodles along with red curry, babycorn, mushrooms and topped with spring onions and garlic. The black pepper chicken was cooked with the right amount of spices, however this type was a bit towards the dry side. So if you like your noodles dry, you should definitely go for this one!
However, if you like your noodles to be in a wet kinda gravy, i.d recommend you to create your own and choose for the red curry as it would turn out to be perfect!

For desserts we tried out the date and caramel mousse – this desserts is one thing which will definitely pull me back to this place! A must must try!
The second dessert was the ginger and coconut mousse – this was an interesting combination and a healthy one too! A dessert which will satisfy your dessert crave as well as help you to stay fit!

Overall, i highly recommend this place to visit atleast once to try out their unique concept!

Bean There Bistro

Bean There Bistro Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato

This place has recently opened in the new extension of the Millenium Airport Hotel. With spacious indoor and outdoor seating, this place has some amazing interiors. A wall dedicated to plants which have grown well enough to a certain extent. The staff is very friendly, welcoming and approachable!

I had visited around the halloweens day and the restaurant was decorated so well with spider webs, skeleton faces and the best being the coffin at the entrance. Looks like it would be the best place to be on halloweens!!

The place offers international cuisine We started off our meal (kept it limited to vegetarian options)with some drinks. Tried out their strawberry Mojito and Sunrise mojito. The sunrise mojito was more towards orangy taste – both the drinks tasted absolutely amazing! The presentation of the drinks was really catchy as well!
For the starters, we tried out the vegetarian pakora which was accompanied with some mint chutney. Pakoras are something we indians look forward to especially when the weather is becoming cool now. The pakoras here at this place were one of the best i’ve tried – crispy, thin and amazing taste. The mint chutney acted like a cherry on the top!

Next we tried was the Caprese Ciabatta sandwich and The Bean There Sandwich. Caprese Ciabatta sandwich came as a ciabatta (italian white bread) filled with tomatoes, basil pesto, fresh mozzarella and balsamic on the grilled ciabatta. The sandwich was and absolute heaven! The sandwich was big enough to be shared among 2 people. Again, the presentation was fabulous. I highly recommend to try this sandwich.
The Bean There Sandwich was an open halloumi and moutabel sandwich with watercress, mint and chilli. This sandwich had a unique taste due to the fillings inside and was more towards a dry side. I would prefer the Ciabatta sandwich over this.

From the mains, we tried out the Travellers Chicken. Since i could try only vegetarian, the chicken was removed from this dish. Now the presentation of this dish was something very unique and too good to handle. The dish consisted of spiced chickpeas, light slaw mix and paratha bread served with carribbean hot sauce. The chickpeas tasted delicious and the paratha was soft and buttery which just made it tastier.
We ended the mains with a penne alfredo. The menu offers a linguine alfredo but we got it replaced with penne. As the name suggests, the pasta came in a white sauce with mozzarella cheese and loads of mushrooms. By far the best alfredo pastta i’ve had! Loved every bit of it! Being a mushroom lover, i was really happy with the amount of mushrooms in the pasta.

Then comes the best part of the meal – DESSERTS! I tried out the chocolate mousse cup and the red velvet cake. I cannot really choose between these two desserts, they were equally good and drooling! The concept and the presentation of chocolate mousse cup was too good! The mousse was not too sweet and had just the right amount of sweetness!
The red velvet cake is something that shouldn’t be missed when in this place. The cake is soft and moist and the cream cheese in between makes it even better in taste!

The place is a must go when looking for some quality food with a great taste! I’ll be back soon to try out the non vegetarian options too!

Aseelah – Radisson Blu Deira Creek

Aseelah Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato
Aseelah is a fine dining restaurant located in Radisson Blu – Deira Creek. The place has an outdoor (preferable for the ones doing shisha) as well as an indoor seating. The interiors of the restaurant are done so well right from the entrance to the outdoor area.
This was my first time of trying some authentic Emirati food sticking to vegetarian options and i was not disappointed at all!

We started off our meal with Aseelah bread stuffed with cream cheese and dates. Even though im not a big fan of dates – this starter was one of the best dishes from the evening. The taste was outstanding and the unique combination is definitely worth trying!

Following this, we were served with some hot breads basket along with some melted ghee. Now this dish was an old and traditional one. The hot melted ghee dip along with the hot bread was something that i have never had before but is something i’m craving for even while writing this review 😛

Next on the table was the delicious beetroot carpaccio salad. Some of the ingredients used in the salad was thinly cut beetroot, lemon juice, olive and fresh wild rocket. This particular salad was served with some Tahni flavoured Laban.

The Saj bread stuffed with tomatoes and olives was the next starter on the table. This dish was a simple one but with an amazing taste. The dish had a spicy taste and the tomatoes din’t get any sour taste to it.

Following this, we were served with a traditional lentil soup. I’m not much into soups but thought of trying this one and i finished the whole bowl so soon! The soup was thick in texture and the taste was unique!

For mains, we were served with Vegetable Margoogat – this dish included few vegetables cooked in a gravy and served along with arabic bread. The dish was cooked very well with the perfect spices.

Moving on to the best part of the meal, THE DESSERTS! We were first served with the traditional Luqaimat. This dessert consists of fried emirati sweets drizzled with date syrup and coated with toasted sesame seeds. The dessert was way too sweet for me but the taste is meant to be that way and was done very well.

The next dessert we tried was the Pumpkin Mille-Feuille. This dessert was one of my favorites one – it included puff pastries layered with warm pumpkin mousse, sweet cream and date syrup. This dessert had the perfect sweetness along with a tangy taste of pumpkin!

Next on the dessert list was the Date Pudding – Warm date pudding served with poached dates, mango and passion ice cream. This sweet and sour combination is worth trying! Loved this one!

The service was great and the servers did a really good job. They were polite and welcoming! A place you must try if you are looking to explore new restaurant and if you love Emirati food!

Medley – Pullman DCC Hotel

Medley - Hotel Pullman Dubai Creek City Centre Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato
I was recently invited to the launch of new Indian theme night “Art of spice” by celebrity chef Sweety Singh at Medley in Pullman City Centre Hotel.
The restaurant usually serves various other cuisines and have different theme nights all along the week.

The Indian theme night is scheduled on fridays and offers mouthwatering indian dishes by the very own Sweety Singh for a limited period time.
The restaurant has done justice to the theme night by decorating it with flowers, diyas, and all those bright indian colors.

The wide spread includes a live chaat counter, a dedicated salads and pickles counter, traditional lassi couter, variety of starters and mains on a buffet counter and a huge area dedicated to desserts (indian & english).

Live chaat counter included live preparations of various chaats sucha as pani puri, dahi puri, bhel puri, paapdi chaaat and much more! Tried the dahi puri and papdi chaat – dahi puri was not that impressive but papdi chaat was worth trying! The papdis used were crunchy and crispy; mixed well with yogurt, chutney and sev.

The salads and pickles counter had a wide variety! I tried the aloo chaat which was done very well! It was mixed with some sour cream and garnished with coriander. Being a potato lover, i loved this salad!
The lassi counter was serving kesar lassi and jeera lassi. I tried their jeera lassi which was too delicious! One glass was just not enough. The lassi was thick but the taste was out of the world! As it was thick, it was also very filling to the tummy!

The starters variety included beetroot ki tikki, ajwaini paneer, a potato starter and tandoori fruits. There were a few more options for the non vegetarians. In vegetarian starters i loved the potato starter (i can’t seem to remember the name though), it was made with all the masalas and spices – just loved the unique taste and shapes of the potatoes in which they were served! The paneer, on the other hand, was very soft and delectable!
Beetroot ki tikki was something different i came across, it was stuffed with thinly cut beetroots – recommended too beetroot lovers!

The maincourse variety included biryanis, stem rice, butter chicken, fish curry, rajma, sarson ka saag, aloo gobi, paneer butter masala, dal shorba, mutter paneer and much more!
The sarson ka saag, butter paneer and aloo gobi were among my favorites from the vegetarian mains. Since the chef is from North India, all the dishes were cooked with absolutely perfect and great spices and masalas. Loved each and every bite of these.

The desserts included assorted pastries, chocolate mousse, dark chocolate mousse, rasmalai, jalebis (yellow, green and red), gulab jamun, stick kulfi, gajar ka halwa, mango phirni and much more! I came across a different and an unique dessert – meat halwa. I couldn’t try as i had to stick to vegetarian but this is one of the chef’s speciality and everyone else loved it.

This theme night is a must try if you would like to try some tasty and delectable indian food with a lot of variety!

Grilliant

Grilliant Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato
A recently opened burger & hotdog spot in Dubai offering a great variety of burgers and hotdogs. The menu has hotdogs and burgers made in different styles – mexican, new york, chicago and soon to be introduced indian style.
The interiors of the restaurant simple and quirky – the owner is a big fan of art and hence, he left the walls to be decorated by the customers.
When you visit the place, you will be given a pack of crayons to draw, write or scribble through the walls. One of the things that kids will definitely enjoy doing!

As a part of my tasting session, i tried out the Check-in burger with fried chicken and one with grilled chicken along with some grilliant fries.
Grilliant fries comes as fries topped with beef, cheddar cheese, crispy onion and thousand island. I opted out the beef and made it vegetarian. The fries were amazing, crispy and yummy! A must have for all the fries lovers!

The Check-in burger is stuffed with white onions, mushrooms, jack cheese, tomato, pickles, lettuce, mayo and chicken breast. The burger was spicy and delicious. The bun of the burger was made fresh and tasted absolutely different and unique – loved the taste!

The fried chicken burger was stuffed with chicken breast and coleslaw. I personally preferred this burger over the grilled one just because of one reason that the grilled chicken was more towards drier side and the coleslaw in this burger made it more juicy!

The hotdogs are made of beef and hence, i wasn’t able to try one. There are alot of options especially if you do consume beef. At the same time, there is one vegetarian option for the veggies.
The place is a must visit for a great evening with friends and ofcourse along with some good food!
