Grain Of Salt

With so many new indian fine dining concepts in the city, grain of salt makes their way in the picture!

Located in Dubai Festival Plaza, the concept promotes themselves as a contemporary family dining. They have some of the best of Indian cuisine with a dash of international touch in a vivid menu handcrafted by Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor.

The interiors and ambience is simply ELEGANT! Indeed a place for you and your loved ones, with a plethora of your favourite picks from all over the world.

On this visit, we tried some of the chef’s handpicked dishes. Starting with a palate cleanser, we tried the Falafel Chaat. A very impressive presentation – this one was a piece of art, literally. It was a good combination and fusion of 2 cuisines – a fab dish to start with.

Moving on, we tried the tomato soup. I’m a sucker for a good creamy tomato soup and this was an absolutely amazing one! I can safely say, one of the best soups i’ve had in the city. The perfect texture and balance of spices in this one.

They have a good variety of fusion salads as well – we tried the watermelon and feta salad. A mix of grilled watermelon, fresh vegetables topped with feta cheese and finished with pomegranate molasses. A healthy and delectable option which was pretty filling!

For appetizers, we tried the Khasta Cheese Blast, Paneer Zaytooni Tikka, Dahi ke Kebab and Beetroot & Peanut Kebab.

Khasta Cheese Blast: Cheese lovers – this one’s for y’all! A short crusted pastry stuffed with herb cheese and baked to golden brown. A crispy and cheesy snack!

Beetroot & Peanut Kebab: I’m not a beetroot fan tbh and was hesitant to try this one. Much to my surprise, the kebabs were extremely delicious. The peanut crunch outside was the best part of the kebab! I would highly recommend trying this one.

Paneer Zaytooni Tikka: This dish is for the ones who love the flavor of tandoor. The paneer was extremely soft, marinated well with spices and simply delicious!

Dahi Ke Kebab: These simple kebabs have a main ingredient – hung curd. With the first bite itself, the kebab melts in your mouth. If you’re willing to try something different, this one should definitely be your go to!

Moving on to the mains, we tried their Dal Makhani and a Paneer based Kofta curry along with some indian breads. The gravys were extremely creamy, flavorful and mouthwatering. The quantity of all the dishes good enough for 2-3 people.

To end with, we tried their Blueberry Phirni – OMG! I have never been a phirni person; but this is one dessert which i’m surely gonna come back for! A very well done blueberry based phirni – just the perfect sweetness and consistency! Worth trying on your next visit here.

All in all, the place is worth a try for some finger-licking’ good food!
